AID STATIONS AND CREW

The 37.5 mile course will have 4 aid stations. The 50 mile course will have 6 aid stations and the 100 mile  course will have 14 aid stations. The aid stations will have water, sports drink and a variety of food. You will be able to have drop bags at all but one aid station. The Indian Point aid station (#4) for the 50 and 100 milers will not have drop bags and limited aid. Two aid station will not have crew access. These are Granby Lakes (#2) and the Indian Point aid station (#4) for the 50 and 100 milers.

AID STATION DIRECTIONS

Aid station 1 is also the start/finish line The race starts with an eleven mile loop on the Crag Crest Trail.
Aid station 2 is the Granby Lakes aid station about 5.5 miles from the first aid station. No crew access.
Aid station 3 is the Flowing Park aid station. This aid station is open to crews and will be used by the 37 milers once. The 50 milers will use it twice and the 100 milers will use it 3 times. From the first aid station, crews will take Highway 65 up the mesa 3.3 miles to the Lands End Road. You will go west west on Lands End Road 1.2 miles to FS Road 109. You will go south about 6.5 miles to the end of the road. Runners will be on a short section of the road, so drive slowly for them.
Aid station 4 for for the 37 milers will be back at Granby Lake after an 10.6 mile loop from Flowing Park.
Aid station 4 for the 50 and 100 milers will be the Indian Point aid station. No crew or drop bags.
Aid station 5 for the 50 and 100 milers will be back at the Flowing Park aid station.
Aid station 6 for the 50 milers will be back at Granby Lakes.
Aid station 6 for the 100 milers will be back at Carson Lake. Crew will go back to Lands End road and take a left (west) on Lands End road 2 miles to the Carson Lake Road FS road 108 and go south about 1.5 miles to the parking lot.
Aid station 7 will be at the Kannah Creek Trail head on Kannah Creek Road. This aid station is difficult to reach for crews and is not recommended. We will allow crewing at the top of the Switchback Trail on Lands End Road. To get to the trail head, go back to Lands End Road from Carson Lake and go west about 6 miles. There is a small turn out on the south side of the road and there is a trail sign.
Aid station 9 Will be at Lands End on Lands End Road. This is about 3.5 miles from the Switchback trail. Please no crewing on the Lands End road between Switchback trail and the Lands End Aid station.
Aid station 8 will be a t Anderson Lake. Go back Lands End Road 10 miles and take a left on FS road 108 and go about 2 miles to aid station.
Aid station 10 will be at Mesa Lakes. Go back to Hwy. 65  take a left (north) and go about 4.8 miles to Mesa Lakes Lodge. take a left in to the lodge and then take the first rd to the left and follow it for about a .5 mile to the aid station.
Aid station 11 will be back at Anderson Lake.
Aid station 12 will be back at Carson Lake.
Aid station 13 will be back at Flowing Park.
Aid station 14 will be at Granby Lakes.

Drop Bags

All Drop bags should be waterproof and sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of being transported to and from an aid station. You may have one drop bag for each aid station, they will not be moved between aid station. You MUST place your NAME, RACE NUMBER, and AID STATION on all drop bags. If you mark a drop bag for an aid station that is not a designated drop bag aid station it will not be transported.

Weather

Weather on the mesa in July can vary greatly. The daytime temps can be in the low 50's to the high 70's at the higher elevations, temps at the lower elevations can reach the upper 80's to lower 90's. Night time temps can be in the low 30's. There are often afternoon thunderstorms that can last a few minutes to all night.
